Mentoring for
established designers

Emma offers a paid mentoring service to people working in service design who need career advice, project support or a sounding board for a tricky problem.

Service design mentoring is designed to give you a helping hand in your career as and when you need it. You can buy as much or as little time with Emma as you need and she’ll help and support you based on her knowledge and experience. Emma uses a coaching approach but is not a qualified coach.
You buy time. You can buy as much or as little as you like in 30 minute increments. This time can be used whenever you need, schedules permitting, within 3 months of purchase.
Before the first session you’ll share with Emma what you need help with. Sessions are run remotely over Google Meet.

You might be a senior designer looking to move into leadership and looking for an outside perspective on the skills you need to develop.
Perhaps you’re working as a solo service designer in an organisation and you’re struggling to get a grip on the best way to run a particular exercise or approach a particular problem.
Maybe you’re a freelancer who’s taken on a project solo and needs a sounding board.
Joy has de-registered for VAT until April 5th 2026. This means mentoring will be 20% cheaper until then.

Buying more time upfront reduces the cost:

You can always buy more time at any point. You can also buy time as a gift to someone you know.
